🌱 We were invited to be a part of a potato trial at the @groundswell_agriculture Festival this year ⛺️ 🌍 As part of the trial, we wanted to move away from conventional planting methods and see what can be learnt by experimenting with depth, cover and nutrition 🫶🏻 🌟So, we planted the potatoes at a shallow depth, left them to it, then covered them in straw to retain heat and moisture💧 😃 The results are looking really positive. A nice green canopy and some healthy looking tubers 🥔 🧪 The experiment doesn’t end there though - we will get in and harvest and see what the final results are 👀 ❌ If you haven’t been to Groundswell, get it in your diary for next year! 📔 #farming

👨🏼🌾 it’s been a busy week all round. 🚜 The beetroot harvest is in full swing, and we’re thrilled to share another belting crop heading straight to supermarkets and packers. Nothing beats the satisfaction of seeing a week’s hard work contribute to bringing fresh, quality produce to tables all around ✨ 📌 This week has also seen the start of a new grading line install at Hasse. The grading facility for beetroot sees about 1,500 tonnes through each week. That’s the equivalent of 55 lorry loads! 🚛 🌱 Up at Proseed this week the team have been hard at work taking care of another first generation of potato plants. 🥔 Did you know….. potatoes actually start their life as tiny plant cuttings, carefully grown in a lab, then planted into polytunnels - some in traditional plots, some in the hydroponic system; grown with no soil but very particular light and water conditions. Hot work in weather like we have currently. 🥵 🌟 Busy weeks lead to big achievements! Thank you to all the teams who have contributed this week 🙏🏽 #HarvestSeason

🚜 Today marks the beginning of the bunched beet harvest season! 🌱 Here’s an insider look at the process 👀: ✋ Every beet is hand picked, ensuring quality and care. 🔪 Next, the beets make their way into the rig where they’re precisely topped and carefully washed then bunched. 🚛 The bunches are then loaded into trays and eventually, they end up in the supermarket shelves. Usually within a day or two of picking from the field. ♥️ Buying bunched beetroot is a really great way of getting the freshest, healthiest crop! #HarvestSeason
