Greens of Soham are committed to responsible estate management that balances productivity with environmental stewardship. Our approach focuses on sustainable land use, efficient resource management, and the preservation of biodiversity.
We actively maintain and enhance the quality of our farmland through soil conservation practices, regenerative farming, responsible water usage, and crop rotation systems that promote long-term fertility. Our estate management strategies are aligned with both agricultural best practices and environmental regulations to ensure the health of the land for future generations.
We also prioritise habitat protection, supporting local ecosystems by maintaining hedgerows, woodlands, and watercourses. Wherever possible, we implement carbon reduction practices and reduced chemical inputs, to minimise our environmental footprint.
Through continuous monitoring, innovation, and collaboration with environmental agencies and local communities, we strive to create a resilient and productive farming estate that contributes positively to both the economy and the environment.
Greens of Soham co-founder Andrew Green won Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust’s 2017 Marsh Award for Wetland Creation. Over 20 years Andrew transformed 250 acres at Kingfishers Bridge near Wicken from farmed fields into meadows, reed beds and a lake. Kingfishers Bridge now attracts more than 200 different bird species, including the bittern, a reclusive heron that last bred successfully in Cambridgeshire in 1936.
